We've had an exclusive 20% discount code with Hovertravel on our Discount Isle of Wight Ferry Travel Guide for a while now. However, it is buried away a little amongst the other deals for Wightlink and Red Funnel.
It also seems a good time to mention it as you may be planning an Isle of Wight day trip from Portsmouth. After all, the nights are getting longer, snowdrops are sprouting in churchyards and lambs are frolicking in the fields (Ed: don't get carried away). So, here it is... (CODE DELETED AS NO LONGER VALID - check this page instead)
There are a few terms and conditions to this offer:
20% discount on standard adult and child day and period returns only. Not available on Senior or Student fares. Tickets are non-transferable, and non-refundable subject to the Disruption Policy. Hovertravel reserve the right to withdraw this offer at any time. Standard Hovertravel booking Terms and Conditions apply.
Newcomers to Isle of Wight travel might like to know a few things about the hovercraft.

Has anyone got the hovercraft 20% off code to work? I've tried several different dates and times but it hasn't been accepted.

Apologies, I've just tested it and it isn't working for me either. I will contact Hovertravel and see if they will give us a new code!

Works but £23 for standard one way trip??? Even with the discount it’s extortionate. Might be worth rowing or visiting a better island.

That does seem a lot, but there are cheaper alternatives for a one way ticket. For example, Wightlink's multilink foot passenger tickets are £8 for a single if you do five returns in 12 months. A single on Red Funnel's car ferry is £12 and there are often tickets for cheap day returns.

Sorry, I should have said that I followed the new link and the current code in the new link is the same as this one (IWGURUHT20) and is meant to be valid until 31/8/24 but is not accepted. I commented here as I couldn't find a comment box in the new link.
