Last Minute Deals And Discounts At Isle of Wight Caravan Holiday Parks 2024
Caravan holiday parks are one of the cheapest options for an Isle of Wight holiday, particularly if you can tolerate squeezing eight people into an eight berth caravan (often with just one small bathroom…).
However, there are two schools of thought when it comes to getting the best price.
On the one hand, if you book long in advance, you’ll get the pick of the best parks and the most popular accommodation. On the other hand, if you wait until a few days or weeks before your holiday then you can save some money on last minute deals as holiday parks attempt to fill up every caravan.

Away Resorts last minute deals
Away Resorts run Whitecliff Bay Caravan Holiday Park, The Bay Colwell, The Lakes Rookley and St Helens Holiday Resort and have a regular list of special deals.
Their last-minute deals typically offer savings of about 25% on the standard prices. However, you may find that the cheaper grades of caravan are sold out if you wait too long.
- Whitecliff Bay is a busy family friendly holiday park with an indoor swimming pool, playground and minigolf. The main attraction is the sandy beach which is attached to the park.
- The Bay, Colwell (formerly Colwell Bay Holiday Cottages) - indoor swimming pool, hot tubs, tennis court, soft play. Near the beach.
- The Lakes, Rookley (formerly Rookley Country Park) - swimming pools, hot tubs, bike hire, playground, kayaking on the lakes. 20 minutes' drive to the beach.
- St Helen's Coastal Resort (also known as St Helen's Holiday Park/Resort) - outdoor swimming pool, hot tubs. 15 minute walk to the beach.

Hoseasons last minute deals
Hoseasons manage bookings for about a dozen of the Isle of Wight’s holiday parks, including some busy family friendly parks (Nodes Point in St Helen's, Landguard in Shanklin), some quieter independent parks (The Orchards, Cheverton Copse) and some posher lodge-type parks (Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat).
With a bit of tinkering you can search for holidays with the biggest discount and can sometimes get 25% or even 50% off standard prices.

Are last minute deals any good?
My experience is that the bargain last minute breaks are usually available for off peak holidays. During the August holidays, Easter or half term breaks you’ll find that the best accommodation gets booked up.
Also worth noting is that on a large holiday park, they’ll offer something like ‘bronze’, ‘silver’ and ‘gold’ properties and there can be a considerable difference in price. So, you might be better booking a bronze property early rather than waiting and hoping that a gold property is reduced at a later date. Just to complicate things further, you’ll sometimes find that the ‘bronze’ properties get better reviews than ‘gold’ caravans, because they’ve recently been replaced or refurbished whereas the gold caravans are getting a bit old and are in need of an upgrade.
