10 of the Best Isle of Wight Caravan Holiday Parks - 2025
Caravan holiday parks are a great Isle of Wight holiday option, as they are often relatively cheap and have ample facilities and space for children to run around (so you don't need to feel like your child is the only one making a noise...). They're also often in prime seaside locations.
We've compared 10 of the biggest and best holiday parks on the Isle of Wight, to see how they compare on price, location and facilities.

1. Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, Bembridge
**Whitecliff Bay Discount Code: Save up to 7% via this link with discount code AWRAF7 + cheap ferry travel**
Whitecliff Bay is in a fabulous location, with convenient access to a gorgeous secluded sandy beach (although it does have a ridiculously steep hill to get to the beach). It is certainly worth considering for Isle of Wight family holidays.
Whitecliff Bay Caravan Holiday Park is between the quiet (and expensive) town of Bembridge and the busy seaside resorts of Shanklin and Sandown. Customer reviews average 4/5 and it won silver in the Holiday Park of the Year category at the South East's Tourism Awards in 2018, 2019 and 2022.
It's a well-equipped site with facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna, sports lounge, bar and restaurant, indoor soft playground, outdoor adventure playground, mini golf and a shop. During the summer months they also offer outdoor cinema once a week.
Some of the accommodation at Whitecliff Bay Caravan Holiday Park is dog friendly for an extra £35-£55. They also have accessible caravans which have been adapted for people with a disability. Whitecliff Bay's Rockstar and TriBeCa accommodation with hot tubs featured in a C5 TV series called Caravanning With Shane Richie a couple of years ago. He stayed in a part of the park called 'Itchycoo Park'.
They often have special offers and send you a link so you can book the Isle of Wight ferry at a significantly discounted price. When I checked it was about £100 for a car in August, compared to about £240 by going to Wightlink direct.
You can arrive any day of the week at Whitecliff Bay and it is usually cheaper to avoid a weekend arrival.

2. Nodes Point Holiday Park, near St Helens
**Nodes Point offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + discount Isle of Wight ferry travel**
Nodes Point is one of four Parkdean Resorts sites on the Isle of Wight, and it generally gets the best reviews. They were all formerly Park Resorts holiday parks.
It's on the east coast of the Island, with excellent access to some lovely beaches such as St Helen's, Priory Bay near Seaview and Appley at Ryde. We stayed at the lower end of Nodes Point and could walk to the beach at St Helens in about two minutes. The caravans at the top of the park are a longer walk but have better views.
It's quite a long drive to the quieter west coast (well, 45 minutes, which is an epic journey by Isle of Wight standards). However, it is pretty near to popular resorts such as Sandown and Shanklin.
Nodes Point is a well-equipped holiday park with facilities including an indoor swimming pool, sports courts, a playground for children, restaurant, shop, bar and launderette. It doesn't have an outdoor pool - although you can use one at another Parkdean Resort on the Isle of Wight called Landguard .
During the summer you can hire paddleboards and kayaks or go on guided outings on the water. They also work with a local riding school to offer pony rides along the beach (read our blog).
Nodes Point is a dog friendly holiday park - it'll cost you £49 a week per pet, although they sometimes do a 'pets go free' deal. You get a generous discount on the Isle of Wight ferry if you book a holiday with Parkdean Resorts. This is typically 50-70% off the standard fares, but it does vary.

3. Landguard Holiday Park, Shanklin
**Landguard offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + discount Isle of Wight ferry travel**
If you want to be near to the busy seaside resorts of Sandown and Shanklin, then Landguard Holiday Park is worth considering.
Landguard isn't on the seafront and would take about 20 minutes if you decided to walk (which is not easy with a windbreak, three buckets and spades, two dogs and six children). A car would certainly be useful.
It probably has the best facilities of all the Parkdean Resorts / former Park Resorts sites on the Isle of Wight, including an indoor and an outdoor pool (I know which I would choose during the British summer). There's also a range of decent facilities including a restaurant, playground, shop, bar and launderette.
The main thing it is lacking when compared to other Parkdean Resorts holiday parks on the Isle of Wight is a sports area (you'll find those at Thorness Bay, Nodes Point and Lower Hyde). However, there is a games arcade.
Landguard generally gets similar reviews to nearby Lower Hyde Holiday Park (another Parkdean Resorts holiday park on the Isle of Wight). Landguard has a slightly more 'leisurely' entertainment programme than the more 'lively' events at nearby Lower Hyde.
Landguard is a good dog friendly accommodation option (£49 per week per pet, max of 2 pets). They also get you a hefty discount on the ferry when you book.

4. Lower Hyde Holiday Park, Shanklin
**Lower Hyde offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + discount Isle of Wight ferry travel**
Lower Hyde Holiday Park is very near to Landguard Holiday Park (also run by Parkdean Resorts / formerly Park Resorts) near the busy coastal towns of Sandown and Shanklin.
Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with a slide, an indoor swimming pool, a playground, restaurant, bar, launderette, darts and pool. It's worth noting that the indoor swimming pool is only small, but you can use the Landguard pool, which is a 15 minute walk away.
It's not as near to the sea as some holiday parks (about a 20 minute walk), but there is pay and display parking on the esplanade at Sandown and Shanklin. Lower Hyde is a good choice if you like cycling as it is alongside a popular cycle track called the Red Squirrel Trail. You can hire bikes from Route 57, which is based at Lower Hyde.
Dogs are allowed at Lower Hyde Holiday Park. They sometimes offer 'pets go free' deals, but generally it'll cost you an extra £49 per week per pet (two dogs maximum). You can get a massive discount off the ferry when you book with Parkdean Resorts.
Customer review scores for Lower Hyde average 4/5, which is on a par with Landguard Holiday Park, Nodes Point and Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park.

5. Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat and Woodside Coastal Retreat, Wootton Bridge
Woodside Coastal Retreat and Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat are a little more serene and lodge-like than some Isle of Wight holiday parks, with things like hot tubs and verandas on offer. There isn’t a great range of facilities, but it is a well-designed site in a pleasant seaside spot with its own quiet shingly beach. It proudly says there aren’t discos or a clubhouse, and it doesn’t have a swimming pool. However, there is a gym, woodland walks and a restaurant.
Woodside Coastal Retreat and Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat are run by the same company and are five minutes apart via a woodland walk. You can use the facilities regardless of which one you choose. They get similar reviews of 4/5 or 4.5/5 depending on which review site you use.
Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat is the larger site. It has slightly newer accommodation as well as easier access to the restaurant and gym. The beach is only a couple of minutes' walk, but it doesn't have sea views as there's a woodland in the way. Some of the lodges at the top of the hilly park have a 'sea glimpse', as an estate agent would say.
Woodside Coastal Retreat is smaller, quieter and a couple of years older, but several of the properties have fantastic sea views. The lodges with the best sea views have the word 'View' in their name, such as Osborne View and Carisbrooke View Premier. You can wander round Woodside Coastal Retreat and get inside some of the lodges on Google streetview. Read the blog about one of our visits.
The site first opened in 2014 (well, it replaced Woodside Beach Park). It has the added quirk of being around the spot of the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival where Bob Dylan headlined (the 1960s and 1970 festivals moved around between different sites).
You'll find it on the Isle of Wight’s north east coast, which is well located for the ferries. However, it doesn’t have miles of sandy beaches, which you will find more on the south east coastline (Sandown and Shanklin area) or the south west coastline (Compton Bay).

6. Cheverton Copse Holiday Park, Sandown
Cheverton Copse is a much quieter option than holiday parks such as those run by Parkdean Resorts (Nodes Point, Lower Hyde) or Away Resorts (Whitecliff Bay, The Lakes Rookley). The family run holiday park is set in mature woodland and is a little way inland between the popular holiday resorts of Sandown and Shanklin.
You can't really walk to the beach from here as it's a couple of miles, so I would bring a car. The location is near to Sandown's airport, but it is only used by light aircraft so you won't be kept awake by 747s.
There isn't a swimming pool, but facilities include a clubhouse with entertainment at peak season and a large sports/games field. There are three children’s play areas including a wooden adventure play area, a pirate ship and swings and slides. There's also a games rooms with pool and video games and a launderette.
Reviews are outstanding (generally 5/5) and it's also one of the best value holiday parks on the Isle of Wight.

7. Thorness Bay Holiday Park, near Cowes
**Thorness Bay offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + discount Isle of Wight ferry travel**
Thorness Bay is between Cowes and Yarmouth on one of the quietest parts of the Isle of Wight's coastline. It is quite a long drive from the beaches that tend to attract highest numbers of tourists (Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Appley - see our beach guide). Of course, you may feel distance from busy resorts is a good thing!
It is another holiday park run by Parkdean Resorts (previously Park Resorts) which offers a generous ferry discount with your booking. While it doesn't have as many facilities as its sister park - Landguard - (such as an outdoor pool) it does still have a good choice of things to do. These include an indoor swimming pool, sports court, an adventure play area, shop, bar, restaurant and launderette.
Some of the posher accommodation comes with hot tubs (which is also the case with Lower Hyde, Landguard and Nodes Point).
Thorness Bay is generally the cheapest of the four Parkdean Resorts Isle of Wight holiday parks when we've done comparisons over the years. However, it gets slightly lower review scores of 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor.
You can bring your pets to Thorness Bay for £49 per dog per week.
Thorness Bay is quite near to Cowes, which is worth a visit during Cowes Week (early August).
In 2023, Parkdean Resorts announced plans to add lots of new facilities including laser quest, high ropes and so on - but we don't know when this will happen.

8. The Bay, Colwell
**The Bay Colwell Discount Code: Save up to 7% via this link with discount code AWRAF7**
The Bay, Colwell was previously called Colwell Bay Holiday Cottages. It is well equipped with hot tubs, an indoor pool (just in case the sea is ice cold, which it usually is), a coffee shop and a children’s soft play area.
It’s also pet friendly, which is appealing or off-putting depending on your point of view. Dogs cost an extra £35-£50, for a maximum of two pets.
Reviews average 4/5, so pretty good and on a par with most other Isle of Wight resorts. It's also worth noting that it's had a few upgrades after being taken over in 2019. Most of the accommodation is 'cottages', which sleep up to four people. The owners have also added some 'beach houses' that have terrific sea views and are a bit posher.
The beach at Colwell is a five minute walk away. It's particularly nice at low tide, when there's plenty of sand and some family-friendly facilities.
Another plus point is that you can add on cheap ferry travel with your booking. It tends to be about half price compared to going direct to Wightlink or Red Funnel.

9. The Orchards Holiday Park, Newbridge
The Orchards Holiday Park is in the quieter West Wight, which has some lovely unspoilt beaches and countryside. It's a good choice if you want to see some of the Isle of Wight's less built-up areas rather than tourism hotspots. However, it is a drive of 35 minutes from the most popular beaches around Sandown, Shanklin and Ryde. That's a colossal journey by Isle of Wight standards.
If you've got a car, you are within 10 minutes of Tapnell Farm Park and the Isle of Wight Aqua Park, as well as some of my favourite beaches - including Freshwater Bay and Compton Bay.
The Orchards Holiday Park is family run and has facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a shop, a takeaway, coffee shop, pool and table tennis, a recreation area (which I assume is a field) and a play area for toddlers.
Reviews are very good, averaging 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor.
Besides static caravans, they also do some bargain deals for tourers and campers that include ferry travel.

10. St Helen's Coastal Resort, St Helen's
**St Helens Discount Code: Save up to 7% via this link with discount code AWRAF7**
An Isle of Wight Holiday Park with consistently strong reviews on Trip Advisor is Away Resorts' St Helen's Coastal Resort, on the east coast (4.5/5 on average). It is also sometimes known as St Helen's Holiday Park/Resort. It's 15-20 minutes' walk to the beach, so not right by the coast. There are some gorgeous beaches in that part of the Isle of Wight, including Priory Bay, St Helen's and Bembridge (see our beaches guide).
Facilities are limited but it's got modern lodges and caravans and a simple outdoor heated pool (summer time only) and a small playground. It is better to think of this one as somewhere with good accommodation for exploring the East Wight rather than somewhere which will provide hours of entertainment.
St Helens Holiday Resort is quite a bit smaller and quieter than other nearby parks such as Nodes Point.
It's one to consider if you are looking for dog friendly Isle of Wight places to stay (£35-£50 extra per dog, 2 dogs maximum).
Make sure you choose the option for Away Resorts to book the ferry for you if you stay at St Helens Holiday Resort. It works out as about half price compared to booking direct with the ferry companies.

11. The Lakes, Rookley
**The Lakes Discount Code: Save up to 7% via this link with code AWRAF7**
The Lakes, Rookley was formerly Rookley Country Park, but it's been revamped and is now owned by Away Resorts. It's an inland holiday park, but it does have a decent range of facilities. You can also get the Isle of Wight ferry at a significant discount when you stay at The Lakes.
There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, kayaking, paddleboarding, waterwalkerz, a bar and restaurant, a children's playground, evening entertainment, amusements and a launderette. Some activities cost extra.
The Isle of Wight is not huge (about 26 by 13 miles) so if you want a central base to explore then The Lakes may be a good choice. It's also a good option if you are looking for Isle of Wight lodges, rather than more basic caravans.
You won't drive for longer than about 25-30 minutes from here without falling into the sea. Some of the accommodation includes a hot tub.
They also have pet friendly accommodation at The Lakes, Rookley (£35-£50 extra per dog, 2 dogs maximum). The average review score is about 3.5/5 or 4/5, although many are before it was bought by its new owners.

12. Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park, near Ventnor
Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park sounds rather grand, and it gets very good reviews of 4.5/5. It is worth considering if you want a quiet caravan site.
It is in Wroxall, which is a little way inland from Ventnor on the south coast. There are 40 static caravans within a ‘traffic free walled orchard’ which was originally designed by famous landscape artist Capability Brown.
Some are four berth caravans whilst others are six berth. There are also loads of pitches for camping, caravans and motorhomes. I wouldn’t take a caravan any further south than Wroxall. Some of Ventnor’s roads are steeper than the drop slides you get at a children’s soft play area.
This is another holiday park that does bargain deals including the ferry if you are touring or camping.
In terms of facilities, there is a ‘sheltered outdoor heated pool’, a play area, a small and simple crazy golf, bar and games room and a football pitch.
Most breeds of dog are allowed at Appuldurcombe Gardens but there are some restrictions and there isn't a dog walking area.

13. West Bay Cottages, Yarmouth
West Bay Cottages would perhaps not appreciate being bundled into our caravan park guide, as they are more like chalets. I'd say it's at the posher end of the Isle of Wight's accommodation market.
There are about 100 'New England' style chalets, cottages and houses just outside of Yarmouth, which is a rather nice town in the West Wight. It was previously called West Bay Club.
They don't offer the range of activities that they used to but there is tennis and a playground. It no longer has a swimming pool.

The park is only open for the warmer half of the year (March to October). I'm afraid cold days eating sandwiches on the beach during a January gale are out of the question.
Facilities at the holiday park are fairly simple with a launderette and a play area. However, it is near to some lovely beaches with shallow water for excellent toddler splashing, including St Helen’s and Priory Bay. Seaview is a sleepy part of Isle of Wight with some rather grand houses overlooking the Solent.

15. Grange Farm
Grange Farm is another site offering pretty basic facilities, but it has glorious sea views and just about qualifies in this holiday park guide because they have a dozen static caravans for hire.
Don’t expect indoor swimming pools or people in poorly fitting jackets reading out bingo numbers every evening. There's a playground and some farm animals to admire, as well as showers for the campers - but that's about it.
Grange Farm hangs on the crumbly cliff edge and is so close to the beach that you could probably throw a stone into the water from your caravan. The website points out that a fence is in place for parents' peace of mind. Not sure what happens when the fence falls over the cliff…

16. Old Mill Holiday Park
Old Mill Holiday Park is in St Helen's, near to Bembridge, which is one of the posher villages on the Isle of Wight.
Bembridge is also home to the UK’s oldest working phone box, but that’s another story. The park offers ferry discounts on all bookings, which is appealing particularly during high season when Wightlink and Red Funnel ferry prices creep up somewhat.
Old Mill overlooks Bembridge Harbour, which is very pleasant. St Helen's beach is nearby and is a dog-friendly spot with shallow water for paddling, paddleboarding or kayaking. Bembridge beach is good for searching for crabs, but it isn’t a swimming beach as the water's too shallow most of the time. Nearby, Whitecliff Bay and Priory Bay are both amongst my favourite beaches.
There is an indoor games room, a couple of children’s play areas and a launderette, which always reminds me of Albert Square where no-one seems to own a washing machine. So, not exactly the indoor pools, archery and evenings of bingo that you get at some parks, but that may not be what you are after…
There are caravans, pine lodges and a couple of apartments. It gets very good reviews (5/5 on TripAdvisor when we checked). They also have apartments for hire at Old Mill.

17. Waverley Park
East Cowes doesn't have as much holiday accommodation as other Isle of Wight towns but it's a convenient location for the Red Funnel car ferry.
Waverley Park gets really good reviews of 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor. It is mere metres from the Esplanade, which has a big playground with zip wires and climbing things to distract older children for hours. There are also swings, slides and a paddling pool for younger visitors (see our toddler days out guide). And of course, the area was good enough for Queen Victoria.
Waverley Park has a heated outdoor pool, a bar, nightly entertainment in peak season and a children's play area. There are static caravans, apartments and spots for motorhomes and campers (touring as it's known). The caravans are four berth, six berth or eight berth and the three apartments sleep five or eight people.
The nearby beach is a shingly spot that is OK for a wander and for watching the yachts sailing past, but you'll need to hop in the car for a few minutes to get to one of the Isle of Wight's sandy beaches. Sandown and Shanklin are about 30 minutes' drive whilst Appley beach at Ryde is 20 minutes.
If you are camping or bringing your own motorhome or caravan then I would take a look at Red Funnel's ferry + pitch bundle deal, which can be used at Waverley park. The accommodation is practically given away compared to booking the ferry and a pitch separately.

18. Sandhills Holiday Park
Sandhills Holiday Park is one of two caravan parks on the Isle of Wight with direct access to one of my favourite beaches - Whitecliff Bay. Whitecliff Bay Caravan Holiday Park is the other one, unsurprisingly.
Sandhills Holiday Park doesn’t have an abundance of facilities, but there is a children’s play area and a launderette.
To be honest though, if the weather is decent you’ll spend most of your time on the beach which is sandy and good for swimming.
The caravans are graded as Comfort and Premier and they have a choice of two and three bedroom models.
