Is There A Haven Holiday Park On The Isle of Wight? 2026 Guide

No, the Isle of Wight doesn’t have a Haven holiday park but there are five caravan holiday parks which offer a similar sort of thing for a similar price.

Four of them are run by Parkdean Resorts (formerly run by Park Resorts) and one is run by Away Resorts. They all have indoor swimming pools, kids’ entertainment and various sports and activities onsite. They all accept dogs and some are alongside beaches.

There are also some very good independent holiday parks (e.g. Cheverton Copse, The Orchards Holiday Park). However, I’d say they are a bit quieter and less comparable to Haven parks in terms of things like kids’ entertainment.

Here are my thoughts on the five Isle of Wight alternatives to Haven holiday parks, along with a price comparison for the cheapest holiday we could find for a week in early August 2026:

1. Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, Bembridge (beachside, indoor and outdoor swimming pools)

**Whitecliff Bay Discount Code: Save 15% with code EARLY15 via this link until 31/01/26 + cheap ferry travel**
Personally, I’d pick between Whitecliff Bay and Nodes Point if you want a Haven style holiday park on the Isle of Wight, although the others on this list have got their own plus points.

Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park is run by Away Resorts, which owns about 20 family friendly caravan parks across the UK. Reviews for Whitecliff Bay average 4/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.2/5 on Google Reviews, giving an overall score of 82%.

Whitecliff Bay’s best feature is its location next to a lovely sandy beach, which looks vaguely Mediterranean on a sunny day (at least until you get into the freezing cold water).

The beach is open to the public but it’s hard to access unless you are staying at one of a couple of holiday parks, so it doesn’t get too busy.

It’s just outside Bembridge, which is a posh village that isn’t too far from Ryde. Bembridge has a nice beach for dog walking and a lifeboat station, whilst Ryde has loads for a family day out.

Onsite, Whitecliff Bay has lots of things you don’t pay extra for including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, entertainment in the day and evening, an outdoor cinema (during the summer), a bar and restaurant, soft play area, adventure playground and table tennis.

There are also various activities you’ll pay a bit extra for, including archery, crazy golf and bike hire. You can get a generous discount on the Isle of Wight ferry via Away Resorts. Whitecliff Bay is a dog friendly holiday park and you can take your dog onto the adjacent beach.

Read about our week at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park.

Price: £844 for a 'Value Chalet' for a week in August 2026 for a family of four. If you want to upgrade, they have lodges and caravans with hot tubs. You can't bring your own caravan to Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park (this ended in 2022) but they do have some basic camping pitches in July and August.

2. Nodes Point Holiday Park, St Helens (beachside, indoor swimming pool)

**Nodes Point offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + discount Isle of Wight ferry travel**
Another alternative to Haven on the Isle of Wight is Nodes Point Holiday Park, which is only a few metres from a pleasant beach at St Helens. One of the highlights is the opportunity to go horse riding on the beach in the summer months. (Ed: I wouldn't say nay to that).

It doesn’t have quite as many facilities as Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, but it’s a picturesque and quiet part of the Isle of Wight.

Nodes Point is also near to a lovely tree lined beach called Priory Bay, which is worth a bit of extra effort to visit. The family-friendly Appley Beach at Ryde is a 15 minute drive away.

Reviews average 4/5 for Nodes Point on TripAdvisor. It scores 83% on average once we factor in review scores on Google Reviews.

Nodes Point has an indoor swimming pool with a slide but there’s no outdoor pool. You also get entertainment for children, a bar and restaurant, a sports court and a playground.

There are some things you’ll pay extra for including kayaking and ‘aqua walkers’, which are those hamster balls that children use on swimming pools. When we stayed at Nodes Point, we paid a bit extra for a pool party (about £7 each, from memory).

Nodes Point is another holiday park that offers a decent discount on the Isle of Wight ferry. You can bring dogs to Nodes Point Holiday Park and they are allowed onto the local beach all year.

Read our blog about a holiday at Nodes Point.

Price: £909 for a Farringford chalet for a family of four for a week in August 2026. Lodges with hot tubs are also available at Nodes Point Holiday Park, although they cost about twice as much as the cheapest accommodation. Glamping in safari tents at Nodes Point is sometimes slightly cheaper. They also offer camping at Nodes Point.

3 and 4. Lower Hyde Holiday Park and Landguard Holiday Park, Shanklin (two similar parks, popular resort town)

**Landguard offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + discount Isle of Wight ferry travel**
Lower Hyde Holiday Park and Landguard Holiday Park are two similar holiday parks in Shanklin.

They are both run by Parkdean Resorts (formerly Park Resorts) and are in one of the most popular areas for tourists because of Shanklin’s family-friendly sandy beach and its ultra-twee thatched village. Personally, I prefer Lower Hyde but I won't fall out with you if you disagree. You could even think of them as two halves of one mega-sized holiday park.

They both get similar reviews and they’re both about a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive from the sandy beach. Overall, Landguard scores 81% on average whilst Lower Hyde scores 82% from reviewers.

Landguard and Lower Hyde usually cost about the same as each other, although there was a modest difference in our August comparison below. They also both offer a generous ferry discount and welcome dogs. You can't take dogs on the main section of Shanklin's beach between May and September, but there's a dog friendly section at the Luccombe end of the beach.

The main differences between the two parks are:
  • Landguard's caravans are arranged in neat little rows, with not a huge amount of space between them. As a result, you have to leave your car in a shared car park. Lower Hyde is a much leafier resort with cul-de-sacs and space for your car next to your caravan.
  • Glamping is an accommodation option at Lower Hyde, but it's not offered at Landguard.
  • Lower Hyde is a bit nearer to Shanklin’s railway station, so you could easily get the train from Ryde Pierhead or Ryde Esplanade if you’re coming across on the Hovercraft or the Wightlink catamaran from Portsmouth Harbour.
  • Swimming is better at Landguard. Lower Hyde has an outdoor swimming pool with a decent slide. However, Landguard has a good-sized indoor swimming pool and an outdoor pool. The good news is that Lower Hyde guests are welcome to use the indoor pool at Landguard if they don’t mind the 15 minute walk.
  • Lower Hyde has ‘more lively entertainment’. Landguard’s entertainment is described as ‘leisurely’.

Price: A week in a caravan or chalet in August 2026 for a family of four cost from £895 at Lower Hyde or £919 at Landguard in our price comparison.

    5. Thorness Bay Holiday Park, nearish to Cowes (beachside, indoor swimming pool)

**Thorness Bay offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + discount Isle of Wight ferry travel**
Parkdean Resort's Thorness Bay is one of the cheaper holiday parks on the Isle of Wight. It was previously a Park Resorts. Reviews aren’t as strong as some of the other alternatives to Haven on the Isle of Wight, but it’s a good base for exploring (Thorness scores about 74% overall, whilst Lower Hyde, Landguard, Whitecliff Bay and Nodes Point score 81% - 83%).

Unlike most holiday parks, Thorness Bay is in a remote location with pretty much exclusive access to a scrubby stretch of beach. It’s not really the sort of beach you’d spend a day digging sandcastles, but it is popular with anglers, and it has lovely sunsets.

Thorness Bay has got an indoor swimming pool, adventure playground, sports court, restaurant and bar. There are also pay-as-you-go activities. These vary but in the past they've offered archery, an inflatable climbing wall, football academy, aqua paddlers in the pool and an inflatable obstacle course. Big plans for new facilities were announced in 2023, but we don't know when these will appear.

I've been to all of the Parkdean Resorts on the Isle of Wight and thought Thorness Bay Holiday Park was actually pretty nice - as long as you don't mind the remote location.

Price: £799 for a week in a Regatta chalet for a family of four in August 2026. They also offer Glamping at Thorness Bay, which is a bit cheaper.

    other options...Isle of Wight lodges

A slightly posher alternative to a holiday park on the Isle of Wight is a lodge with a hot tub. Some offer onsite facilities and more spacious accommodation. They're usually much more expensive during the August holidays, but there's less difference if you're visiting off-peak.

We've got a guide to the best Isle of Wight lodges, but options include:

    • Woodside Coastal Retreat and Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat in Wootton are adjacent lodge parks with a beach, hot tubs, onsite restaurant and gym.

    • St Helen's Coastal Resort has a small outdoor swimming pool, hot tubs and is about 15 minutes' walk to the beach. It's also known as St Helen's Holiday Resort.
**St Helen's Promo Code: Save 15% with code EARLY15 via this link until 31/01/26**

    • The Lakes, Rookley has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, hot tubs and kayaking lakes. It isn't near a beach but it's a good one for exploring all four corners of the Isle of Wight in a week.
**The Lakes Promo Code: Save 15% with code EARLY15 via this link until 31/01/26
      **

    • West Bay Cottages in Yarmouth has about 100 'New England style' chalets and houses. It's also got tennis and a playground. At one stage it had a swimming pool but that is no longer available to guests.

The Lakes, Rookley, isn't by the beach but it has indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a nice setting
