Is now a good time to book?

That's an excellent question. Congratulations.

For a ferry to or from the Isle of Wight in the next few weeks then this is a very good deal and I would say you are unlikely to find a bigger discount (see our ferry deals page for other offers and ideas for saving money).

For ferry travel in 2025, it is a stick-or-twist scenario.

There are two factors to consider.

1. Isle of Wight car ferry prices tend to increase as the ferries fill up. They are led by demand, so an empty ferry is generally cheaper than a nearly full ferry. We generally advise to get booked as soon as you know your plans.
2. There's a possibility that a better discount code will come along if you hold your nerve and wait. In previous years Red Funnel has offered a third off for Black Friday. There's also the Big Book of Savings, which are sent to Isle of Wight homes but can be given to friends and family on the mainland. These often offer day returns at about £60 and usually have a percentage discount voucher of about 15-25% off. ​​
